Our Indoor Air Quality Services

The air that your family breathes outside could be cleaner then what they’re breathing inside. It’s a crazy reality, but these days, Indoor Air Quality can actually aggravate allergies as much as the air outside that is breeding the pollutants. To ensure your air is clean check out some of our Indoor Air Quality Services. Listed below is each service we provide, with a brief description of what each entail.

  • Duct Cleaning:

F.H. Furr uses NADCA’s certified cleaning process with two key components:

  1. Breaking Contaminants Loose: Properly cleaning HVAC systems requires removing the sources of contamination. Source removal begins with use of one or more agitation devices designed to loosen contaminants from the surface within the duct system.
  2. Collection of Contaminants: The entire HVAC ductwork system is placed under continuous negative pressure (vacuum) to prevent the spread of contaminants. This allows very fine particles to be removed from the system as they become airborne, ensuring that these particles are not released into the living space when the system is turned on after cleaning.
  • Air Cleaners/ Air Filters:

Improvements in Home Indoor Air Quality technology have occurred rapidly in recent years leading to a flood of air filtration systems. An important factor in determining the effectiveness of an air cleaner is the strength of the pollutant source. Table-top air cleaners, in particular, may not remove satisfactory amounts of pollutants from strong nearby sources. People with a sensitivity to particular sources may find that air cleaners are helpful only in conjunction with concerted efforts to remove the source.

  • Dehumidifiers/ Humidifiers:

Excess Humidity causes your indoor air to feel more uncomfortable than it should, not to mention the health risks that come along with a damp home environment. The ideal level of humidity in your home is 45%. Although it’s difficult to maintain such consistent level all of the time, working to keep humidity as close to 45% as possible will not only make your home FEEL more comfortable, but will transform it from the environment where mold, mildew and bacteria can thrive.

Humidity plays a huge role the comfort of your home and family. When you combine existing low humidity levels with the home heating season, it can result in a myriad of indoor problems! Overly dry air absorbs essential moisture from your body as well as items in your home, it can cause health issues as well as damages to your home!

  • ERV Energy Recovery Ventilator:

Energy Recovery Ventilator’s draw air from outside while expelling odors, chemical and contaminants from your home. This helps bring that touch of spring inside, while eliminating stale air that hovers in the house–moving it outdoors. The air that is circulated inside the home is kept clean and fresh, and since you’ll feel a difference in the air you’re breathing, you won’t have to constantly adjust your thermostat–saving you money each month! ERV’s are ideal for humid climates and can remove nearly half of the moisture and heat from incoming air, keeping your indoor air quality cooler and dryer while saving you money!

  • Air Scrubbers:

The “Air Scrubber Plus” technology has been proven to destroy up to 99.9% of all surface bacteria, viruses & germs it’s been tested on! Air scrubbers also help to keep your heating and cooling system clean, providing Maximum Efficiency, Greater Comfort and Lower Utility Bills. Air scrubbers use specialized UV germicidal light waves along with a proprietary catalytic process that creates enviro-scrubbing molecules of Oxygen and Hydrogen just like nature’s outdoor scrubbers.

  • UV Lights For HVAC System:

The powerful rays of UV light penetrate the membranes of microorganisms while reacting with and disrupting their DNA, rendering them harmless! The UV light allows the air to be filtered, killing millions of bacteria, viruses and allergens as they pass through your HVAC system. Mold, bacteria, pet dander and even viruses can settle on surfaces and circulate through your home’s air. Fortunately, germicidal lights are a simple and effective solution that combat these biological contaminants, so you can relax knowing your indoor air is as healthy as it can be.
