Frequently Asked Questions
How often should I service my AC?
Air conditioning maintenance should be performed at least once a year. Ideally, it should be done in the spring so you know your air conditioner will be ready for summer.
When should I replace my air filter?
You should check your air filter every month for the best air quality and AC performance. Replace it whenever it looks dirty or clogged, or about every three months for standard fiberglass filters. High-MERV, pleated, or high-efficiency filters can last six to 12 months before they need to be replaced.
How can I reduce my cooling costs?
One of the easiest ways to minimize cooling costs is to install a programmable or smart thermostat. By setting it to increase the temperature by 5 to 10 degrees while you’re away, then returning it to a comfortable temperature before you come back, you can save up to 10% a year on energy costs.
Other simple ways to reduce your cooling costs include keeping doors and windows closed, replacing worn weatherstripping, and replacing your air filter often.
