HOW TO PREVENT CLOGGED DRAINS?

• Minimize the amount of grease that goes down the drain by disposing of it in the trash and wiping the pans with a paper towel.
• Throw all coffee grinds in the trash.
  

• Clean the tub/shower strainer daily.
• If your strainer has screws, remove the screws and lift the strainer to provide access to the drain opening. Use a bent wire or tweezers to clear out any accumulated debris.
• The bathroom sink pop-up stopper should be lifted up and cleaned weekly.
• The overflow plate on the tub can be taken off to remove accumulated hair from the spring or rocker arm.
  

• If used only once every few months, sodium hydroxide and sodium nitrate cleaners can be safe and effective.
• If you have metal pipes, use chemical cleaners sparingly as they can corrode the metal pipes.
